About Us

Finding Jesse in Every Turn - You Matter

Living in a constant flight-or-fight mode struggling to help the person you love the most; watching in pain as they self-destruct is the most excruciating thing a person can do.  And then comes the finality of that walk...death.  Those four words will forever be etched in our memories...Your Son is Dead.

But that is not the legacy that people need to remember.

My son's life had a purpose...his death will leave a mark, not just the gaping hole, but a meaningful reason to support, understand and provide a non-judgmental platform to remember those who have lost loved ones to addiction; help families locate local resources and advocate for those still struggling with their addiction and mental illness.

The stigma has to end before we lose another loved one to this battle.

Our Story

The year, 2020, has been a year to reckon with.  Pandemic, riots, race wars, isolation and death. Though many things have happened, nothing, absolutely nothing could ever prepare my heart and soul for that pivotal moment that totally erased your birth. That fateful day taught me that my life story was not nearly as important as yours – even though ours are intertangled and to understand the path you chose; I must share a tiny glimpse of mine by continuing the battle we have walked together for over 15 years.

This project is dedicated to you and others like you struggling with addiction and mental health… and a special dedication to the mothers and families who must live with a piece of themselves no longer here physically on earth.

My son was the most kind-hearted man with a beautiful soul and an amazingly big heart.  He was the child who made me feel and experience unconditional love for the very first time.  He cared more about others than he did himself and could make you laugh when you were feeling your lowest. My son’s name is Jesus G. Gutierrez – he will forever be 29 years old.

We are the foundational team and we believe that to change perceptions we must educate others about the disease of addiction and mental illness and passionately push through unheard voices as we fight with a system that oftentimes gives up on the person before they take their last breath.

This is your place, our place, to feel safe, locate outlets to channel your grief and a reminder to always remember the good, not the ugly shell that housed the addicted person you love.

Meet The Team

“We honor ourselves, and our loved ones,  when we speak out for recovery. We show the world that recovery matters because it brings hope and peace into the lives of individuals and their loved ones.“ - Beth Wilson
